Every week a new crime with the storyteller who knows it best. In Chicago tonight a group of teenagers is charged with beating a black boy to a

pulp and then boasting that they kept their neighborhood white.

Leonard Clark is still in a coma.

Police say he was attacked by a group of white teenagers who used racial epithets as they beat

him unconscious.

On the first hot day of March 1997,

13-year-old Leonard Clark was out for a bike ride with his friend

when they were attacked for being in the wrong neighborhood.

I learned that the lead attacker was the son of a powerful mob boss.

A mob boss with ties literally dating back to Capone.

When Johann's Liqueur first heard about this attack, he was a 23 year old man from the south side of Chicago and

the case pushed him to become a journalist and to look deep into what happened to

Leonard. He ended up breaking stories on how the mob and racial politics affected the investigation.
