Many of you have told us you spent a lot more time online last year, and are still figuring out how to take back control of your tech habits. How do we know if our habits with technology are UNhealthy? Today Dr. Kim and Christina identify some red flags around tech overuse and talk about ways to break those unhealthy habits and create healthy ones.

Well, last year was strange, and something that we keep hearing again and again from you

couples is how some of us have started some pretty unhealthy habits when it comes to technology due to COVID and shutdowns,

political things that seem to grab our attention online that we felt like we just couldn't keep our eyes off of and so on.

So I definitely have had my screen time upped by 100 or 200 percent some weeks and months last year as well, where it just really wasn't good for my mental

health and I didn't follow my normal boundaries with technology. So today we want to talk about that.

Just because we started some unhealthy habits doesn't mean we have to continue in them. It's time

to break some habits and build some healthy ones with the key of this being creating

sustainable habits. So Dr. Kim, how do we know if our habits with technology are unhealthy? What are

some markers of that? No, I think it's so good we're talking about this because I really do think

a lot of people fall in the same boat you are in and I was in am in and and I think just because of

COVID we just did some things differently and so I think it probably it's a time for all of us to

evaluate it no matter who we are where we think we have a problem or not it'd be a good time you know

is your life kind of getting out of balance you know and if your spouse and your kids are

saying to you all the time you're always on your phone you always on your computer, you're always doing this where they don't feel like they're getting the time they were getting before. That would be a really red flag. And so, you know, you can ask your family, ask your spouse, ask your kids, say, hey, do you feel like I'm spending too much time or you feel neglected things like that? Because I think then we've got to look at the things.

Are we not doing the things that are really best for us to do?

And so is technology taking away from your quiet time?

Is technology taken away from the time, like I said, with your kids?
