Summary

This week Kat (@kat.defatta) brings the multi-talented Jamie Grace (@jamiegraceh) on the show to share part of her personal story, including her struggles with mental health. Jamie was diagnosed with ADHD, anxiety, OCD, and Tourette’s Syndrome at age 11 but that is not where her story starts or ends. In this conversation, you get to hear about how Jamie refused to allow the hard parts of life to rob her of the good parts. She’s funny, she’s resilient, she’s a real human with feelings and she is someone who is spreading a message more of us need to hear: We can live full lives being our imperfect selves. Amen.

P.s. Jamie just released a book called, Finding Quiet, if you want to know more about her story. GO GET IT NOW.

so we're going to do the best we can. I know that some of us are struggling with the holidays

0:46.8

as we would normally because of our own life stressors and anxieties and stuff going on.

0:52.4

And then also some of us are struggling because we can't spend

0:55.8

the holiday that we normally would want to spend with the people we want to spend it with. And

I know I personally have some friends that are having to quarantine just straight up alone on

1:06.1

1:10.6

anybody who is struggling this week extra. I'm be really hard. And so I want to just throw that out there to anybody who is

1:11.5

struggling this week extra. I'm here with you. And yeah, it's tough. I want to offer anybody that

1:18.6

is in one of those spots who feels just kind of defeated and is this ever going to get better that

1:23.9

there is hope still. We still have some hope. This is not going to be our new normal.

1:28.5

This is just our right now. And if we can look at it that way, it can help us, you know,

1:33.5

plant a little bit more hope, which we might have some trouble doing right now because we've

1:38.5

been hoping for almost a year now for this to go away. And it hasn't. So just always remember, like maybe you can put that in your

1:46.5

head that this is not our new normal. This is our right now. Okay, now for this week's episode,

1:52.5

y'all, you are in for such a treat because I was not planning on releasing this episode this

1:59.1

week, but, you know, we need some goodness and laughter and fun

2:04.2

in our life. And you know what? Talking about mental health, yes, can also be fun and enjoyable
