Brooke McCallory and I'm here by myself this morning. Ben's been taken away from the studio.

He's off at work somewhere and today is an unusually tight turnaround. So anyway,

it's just me and my neighbor who's mowing, which is always good timing. So I'm sorry if you can

hear that in the background. But today I have a wonderful conversation with Amelia Lee, who is

an architect, actually.

Amelia is the host of one of our Jack Rabbit FM programs called Get It Right with the undercover architect.

And she essentially takes people through the entire process.

And every question, every issue, every, every consideration in creating a home, either,

you know, a new build or a renovation, but from the perspective of someone who thinks the

most important job of the home is to support the kind of life you want to live, rather than,

you know, creating a home that is in keeping up with trends or

the Joneses or, you know, your upward trajectory into larger and larger properties. And Amelia

is someone who I really wanted to talk to about the idea of home, partly because her

philosophy on what a home is and how to make it work for us is one that I really,

I really, you know, relate to very, very closely. And she's just got so much knowledge to share.

She's been an architect for 20 years. But also because she personally has a wonderful story

of change and growth and evolution, which we open up by

talking about. And I think it's one that many of us can really tap into and find a lot of

commonality in because Amelia was on, you know, a similar trajectory to many of us where it's just,

you know, the steps of life are kind of laid out it, laid out

in front of us and we're encouraged to buy the first house and then renovate that and then
