very interesting guest Amanda Ottawa, former Division 1 women's basketball player at

Davidson and newly minted author. Her book, The Rebounders, came out March

1st and I were lucky enough to get a copy to read it. And I mean, I read a book in two or three days which was pretty

impressive for me Smalls I know she sent you yours way earlier than me because we

thought it would take six weeks right? Yeah yeah I got my way earlier. It took me a little longer, but not because I was boy. It was just in the timing I would read like 50 pages. I thought it was a real page turner though. I really enjoyed it.

Well the other problem you know you had to go to the dictionary.

She is the Davidson alum so we know she's pretty smart. But it was honestly

reading the book I really really, you know,

as coaches in the men's side,

you kind of take a lot of different things for granted.

And the one thing that I think I took for granted

more than anything is that when,

especially even when we were managers,

like we got the best of everything at

temple like we cannot complain really at all about anything that happened given like

how much gear we had and you know you fly private planes and and that's the part of like working at a you know a high major or mid major school that people really take for granted and one of the things about Amanda's story that was really interesting was kind of the discrepancy especially not only between men's and women's basketball, but just between low major to high major and kind of the situations that you find yourself in.

And I also thought the one thing that she did is this is one of the best written books I've ever seen

about or I've ever read rather about a player's relationship both with their teammates, with their

school but also with the coaching staff Smalls and that we talked a lot about that in her interview. with their she related to her coaches, how she related to her teammates. And that part was pretty, I mean that was pretty crazy.
