(3:00) Dave is an engineer and citizen scientist who has studied cholesterol for years. (5:30) It is a great documentary that addresses high cholesterol in an easy-to-follow manner. It also addresses the benefits of the ketogenic diet and how it may affect people differently. Nick Norwitz is well known for his N=1 experiment in lowering his cholesterol through a dietary regimen. (17:00) Dave explains Nick's experiment and the significance of the results. The experiment is not advocating eating junk food. It was a comparison and a data collection method. They discuss Dave's passion for doing a deep dive into cholesterol to create the documentary. (31:00) It took a while for Dave to convince others that it was a study worth doing. Lundquist and Dr. Matthew Budoff spearheaded the study. The study had 100% completion rate with 100 participants. Dr. Richard Bernstein was a T1 diabetic who decided to monitor his own blood sugar regularly and developed a system to do so. (58:00) But he was dismissed because no doctors believed people would bother to measure their own blood several times a day.
