We record this just hours after England's magnificent victory over Croatia in Euro 2020.

A victory which has set the media light and seems to suggest that it is finally coming home.

I haven't been keeping track of that. I went for a snooze straight after the game.

So I missed out on the post match. It was good. It was a good performance.

Calvin Phillips was incredible. I thought he was brilliant. But yeah.

Do you know what? I haven't seen everyone have gone crazy. But my analysis of that is that

to anyone who knows anything about football or the history of England team in tournaments

the performance was quite evidently not shit. And that is the big surprise.

Because even in tournaments where England have done okay.

And there's only a few of those. We never. The first game is always like,

almost like torture tracking yourself through it. Do you know what I mean?

It's like it's uninspiring. Well England switzerland.

Yeah. I was at that game. I was at that game.

It was absolutely like wading through fucking treacle.

Do you know what I mean? Like the sort of games now that you just see on TV

and you're just looking at your phone or distracted by something else.

I have to watch it. And England and very often got off to those kind of efficient

starts where you know we might grind out a win in the first game.
