Welcome to Unhappy Hour, the show where we bitch about all the things we love to hate every single week. I'm your host Matt Bellissai.

I'm here in my studio recording far, far away from my producer Barry Thinkill, hi Barry.

Hey Matt, you know what I realized today? What? This is our first ever episode, published, not during the Trump era of presidency.

It's a new dawn, it's a new age, it's the same podcast.

What has been around officially longer than the Trump presidency? Unhappy hour. I mean not yet.

Well that's not true. When did we start? When did we start? We started in 2017, so a full year and a half into the Trump presidency.

Well, I feel like we'll outlast him eventually. Oh absolutely. Because you know what? There's still a lot to complain about, even under this new administration.

Yeah, as happy as I was to see him get on his little airplane and fly away. That's a big ass airplane.

And yeah, my little airplane, I mean the one that we pay for. But yes, happy as I was, I was still like, oh, my life still sucks.

All of my problems are still here. Nothing has gone away. Nothing has been fixed yet. We'll see.

I know I was legitimate when I was having a conversation with myself over like whether my life improved over the last four years.

And unfortunately the answer is yes, not because of Donald Trump. But I just like hate to give him any satisfaction of knowing that my life improved while he was president.

I mean, I think that any improvement would not be something that he cares about. So I think you're fine.

Like he's not going to get satisfaction from that.

But also say yeah, it was in spite of him, not because of him. And anyway, that we prevailed, we survived. And yet our complaining goes on as it always does.

Because even in the best of times, we are also celebrating the worst of times. Amen.

You know who said that? Me. I wrote that book. Mr. Chuck Dickens can eat my asshole because I don't give a shit.
