along with leaders of the world, have moved past COVID-19 in the pandemic, except COVID-19 has not

moved past happening. And what is to be done? I welcome Dr. Henry Miller. Dr. Miller is

Henry Miller MD.org to watch his reporting. He's also very carefully posting for the American

Council on Science and Health. So I come now to the question we all ask when we travel around

remembering the last two or three years. To mask or not to mask. Dr. Miller, Henry, a very good

evening to you. To mask or not to mask in hospital settings that of my experience recently this spring,

masking is still required of visitors and the staff and the security staff. Outside that, however,

I no longer see a pattern. Good evening to you, Dr. Miller. Good evening, John.

To your rhetorical question, yes, it's still important to mask.

As you know, there's very little masking going on as the incidence of reported COVID at least

is way down. But there are strong hints that we're in for a surge. Mid-summer, late-summer,

or certainly in the fall. And how do we know that? Well, if we look at the amount of the COVID

virus in wastewater in various parts of the country, and that's monitored carefully,

the amount of virus is up now in all regions except in Midwest where it's essentially flat.

And so, this is not the time to go maskless in moderate or high-risk situations,

like movie theaters, like church or synagogue, like convention halls. And as an interesting

anecdote about that, two very distinguished academic physicians have recently reported

...
