This is CBS I On The World. I'm John Batcher. Vaccines, vaccines to answer the pandemic of 2020.

0:12.8

Much in the news, the origins of the pandemic. Not in the news, but here to comment upon the vaccines

0:21.4

that prevented the worst catastrophe from getting worse is Dr. Henry Miller, my guide on vaccines

0:28.9

these many years. The reason I care a deal about it is that I am heavily vaccinated,

0:34.5

unlike some of these other stories. And I count on Dr. Miller, a physician, to sort through

0:40.8

the many confusing headlines about vaccines. Henry is the Glenn Swagger, distinguished fellow

2:02.9

17. So they do work, and they are extremely, extremely safe. And there was a very interesting

2:15.1

article that I just ran across yesterday that described the cause, the basis of what has been

2:25.8

called allergic reactions to some of the vaccines. It's very rare, but it occurs. It turns out

2:32.4

it's not an allergic reaction at all. In a study of injections of the vaccines versus placebo,

2:43.3

there was the same frequency of these kind of pseudo-allergic reactions. Lightheadedness,

2:51.7

itching, drop in blood pressure, and so on. And it turns out that it's really psychogenic,

2:59.8

has nothing to do with the vaccine, again, because you get the same effect at the same frequency with
