At this stage in the coronavirus pandemic,

it looks like progress depends on where in the U.S. you live.

Over the last week, nearly half of the new COVID-19 cases came from just five states.

New York, Michigan, Florida, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.

The spike has been especially bad in Michigan.

The seven-day average of daily cases is now more than double what it was two weeks ago.
