Notice I just said friend, which sounds kind of weird to say because I know that there's hundreds of thousands of people listening to the podcast. But as I listen to podcast myself and somebody says, hey, my friends, I'm like, wait, it's just me. It's just me. So I'm talking to you right now, my friend, who is listening to the show. And I super appreciate you for doing that. But anyway, super excited about today's episode with my former student, former accelerator member and friend, Cuejo. His name is Cuejo Sampani Kese, but he just goes by Kwejo, kind of like

Bono or Cher or Oprah. He's known as Kuejo, and he's the founder of Elementary Chinese,

ElementaryChinese.com, elementary Chinese on Instagram, on YouTube, on Facebook,

and I asked Kuejo to come on to share his journey in his business.

And as you're going to hear today, we had this episode interview scheduled for, I want to say, the middle to end of February 2020. And here it is the second

week of June 2020. And we're finally having the interview. And the reason that we didn't have

the interview back in February was because the coronavirus hit. And Cuejo and his family were living in China. They went on vacation

to Mexico. This is a, they go to Mexico on a consistent basis to vacation and they love the

language and you're going to hear all that today. But then the coronavirus hit and his business

collapsed. And not only that, they weren't able to get back to China because of coronavirus.

And so the first half of 2020 for Kuejo and his family had been really challenging,

not only in a personal level, but for his business as well. And I had him come on today to share

his story because I first met Kuejo back in June, almost a year ago, June 2019, when I first had a conversation with him about joining my accelerator coaching program.

And he joined. And literally a week later, we were having our first retreat here in san diego and you're

going to hear the story today but he flew from china to san diego for that first retreat and he

it just completely changed the trajectory of his business and what i really wanted him to dive into today is his story about the business,

because when I first met him and he joined the program, he had two quote, unquote, membership

programs, and he'll explain why I'm putting them in quotes here. But he was spending about

12 hours a week on two different level membership

programs. And when we broke it down for how much he was actually earning per hour, he was

earning like 69 cents an hour based on revenue that he was bringing in from these memberships

and all the time he was putting in. And we just changed things around
