Hello and welcome to this week's episode of what most people think.

looking at the floor plans of various things. It's a weird thing having a tour on sale and

rejoining us this week, probably quite aptly is Alan Cochran. Alan, are you on tour at the moment?

You're going out soon? No, I'm spending a period of time where I'm a club comic and

see, that's the life. Somebody else promotes it. Yeah. And, you know, you do the gig on the Saturday and they send you the money on the Tuesday. It's all sort of, it's a quite quick feedback loop, isn't it? It's enjoyable. It is quick. I mean, look, I would say this. I did the work in progress shows, which are like sort of mini tour shows. Basically, the idea being that it's two quid cheaper and you'll see that at times, you'll see where that exists. I've got a laptop on stage and some jokes don't have punchlines, but they've been great fun. So there's that side of it where now the dream is alive, like always a dream. Could this be better than the last? Could this, that sounded arrogant, could this possibly be better than basic bloke one? Is it going to be the godfather

two of sequels or is it going to be finding dory? It's the big question that everyone's

wondering, Jeff. That only I am wondering. The funny thing about stand-up is that the amount

that you give a shit about

your career is so much exponentially higher than anyone else, including everybody you work with.

Yeah, yeah. It's really difficult that, isn't it? And also, weirdly, the more you care about it,

there's a certain inverse correlation where gigs get worse if you care too much. Sometimes it's good to not, I remember

hearing some snooker commentary where somebody was saying, how does snooker players cope with

nervousness if they're like a newcomer that's kind of got themselves into the crucible final?

And it's such tiny little muscles in your hands.

If you get nervous, how do they, and I think it was Stephen Hendry said, oh, it's really

difficult. You have to go out there and play as though it means nothing when you know it means
