| 0:09.0 | And today I'm going to continue the discussion about the importance of finding a good college to send your kids to you. If you're interested in higher education today, I'm pleased to have with me the president of Arizona Christian University on the show. |
| 0:21.0 | We're going to have a conversation that you need to hear stick around. I think you're going to be encouraged. |
| 0:34.0 | All right you guys so before I jump into the meat of today's discussion and introduce my wonderful guest you want to remind you that we've got a brand new Bible study series that we're going through on the book of Acts over at mom strong international. |
| 0:47.0 | And just let you know this is a great time to jump in we're we're taking a deep dive into how the first church behaved in really what was an era of cruelty toward Christians a lot of similarities between what happened in the book of Acts and how the disciples navigated that and what we're facing right now in the culture. |
| 1:06.0 | And so check it out mom strong international calm you guys can become part of that very important discussion and learn to study the word with me you guys know how passionate I am about education my husband and I have been advocates for parental rights and for freedom and education now for over 20 years. |
| 1:23.0 | And here at the homeschool resource center we got questions a lot about what is the next step so once our kids graduate from our homeschool where did where do we go from there. |
| 1:32.0 | You guys know I'm a huge fan of the trades were bringing back the trades here at the resource center with our beekeeping program and with carpentry and just teaching kids to do all kinds of things in technology so that when they graduate from high school if they wanted to they could go directly into the workforce. |
| 1:49.0 | But as you know there are lots and lots of jobs out there that require a college education and what we are recognizing now as the culture keeps right moving along is that a lot of the so called Christian universities have gone woke a lot of them are teaching things to our students that are patently false and even indoctrinating kids in college and so when they get out of college the parents wonder what happened to my kid I sent my kid to the so called Christian University and they came out as a woke liberal. |
| 2:18.0 | How did that happen well it happens on purpose that's exactly how it happened and today I'm excited to have a new friend on the show with me today he is the president of Arizona Christian University he's a father of eight and a grandfather of 13 kids they're all five years of age and younger they homeschool for 14 years he is a wealth of information has a brand new book out called transforming culture with truth which you guys know I love that title. |
| 2:43.0 | And then so welcome to the show well thank you so much for the chance to be on and talk about Arizona Christian University and what we're doing to transform culture with truth here and appreciate you and your leadership and even speaking about these issues that often are ignored even in the Christian community so thank you for the opportunity you're very welcome well we were honored to get to know you and your wife at the council for national policy in sunny sunny California I say sunny because you guys are in Arizona so you see the sun all the time. |
| 3:12.0 | But you know when it's February and March in the Pacific Northwest we're like moles up here we're happy to go to wherever the sun is but I was encouraged to talk with you and just hear your passion for truth in our universities because we are we are suffering in the Christian community right now from a lack of truth it's one of the reasons I'm running for Congress we've got people in the highest positions of authority in our country who can't tell the truth we've got a woman who wants a lifetime of points and we're going to be a part of the world. |
| 3:41.0 | It's a lifetime appointment on the Supreme Court who's unwilling to say what a woman is and it's not because she doesn't know it's because she lacks courage and before I jump into this with you I have a quote I want to get your opinion on so my friend pastor Rob McCoy was on the show with me recently and we were having the same discussion about truth and he said in the absence of courage truth isn't orphan and I thought man if that doesn't describe the culture that we're living in. |
| 4:10.0 | Right now and that's what we're seeing in our universities. |
| 4:13.0 | It is what we're seeing and you know we've got the banners I can I can see one outside my window here it is on a Christian University where by the way it is sunny and about eight degrees right now. |
| 4:24.0 | Hey man it's 75 here in sunny today so I got that going very good very good that's a good day but they say courageously Christian because we're speaking to our students every day about the courage that's going to be required in this culture to stand up for the |
| 4:39.0 | biblical truth. |
| 4:42.0 | You know I know we talked about this in California but you know I come out of the Christian conservative pro-life pro-family movement that's my background as a journalist as an attorney in sort of in Arizona being the leader of Arizona's focus on the family group. |
| 4:59.0 | So I bring that mentality that we need to prepare courageous Christians to go into the world and be different makers for the kingdom of God and so we speak to our students about going into the seven mountains of influence in our culture. |
| 5:15.0 | We have degree programs in each of those areas but that's we have a very unique mission even among Christian colleges and yet we're growing really rapidly we're one of the fastest growing universities in the country. |
| 5:28.0 | Started very small as a Bible college so committed to truth 60 years ago but mostly preparing pastors teachers and now we prepare students we have a student right now who's about to graduate from Harvard Law School where he's the president of the federalist society. |
| 5:44.0 | Yeah. |
