Lionsgate CEO John Feldheimer just extended his contract through

March of 2014, and it looks like he is going to weather the storm just fine. Under his new

pact, the head of the independent studio will draw a yearly salary of $1.2 million right up till 2011,

when, according to Variety, quote,

it rises in accordance with the consumer price index. Because, you know, if anyone needs protection from inflation, its multimillionaire studio executives. Elsewhere, Disney announced last

week that it will spend an additional billion dollars to redesign its misbegotten California

Adventure theme park. That's on top of the billion it's spent to build Disneyland's next-door

neighbor in the first place. According to the LA Times, Disney hopes the extra billion will give

California adventure, quote, the main thing it lacks, an emotional connection to keep people

coming back.

The redesign will transport visitors, quote,

to the California of the late 1920s, when Walt Disney first arrived in Hollywood.
