Friday, February 1st, 2019, New Jersey Senator Cory Booker announced via video he was joining the crowded Democratic race for president in 2020.

President of the United States of America. Fox News Radio's Jared Halpern takes a deeper look at the

outspoken senator from New Jersey. One trend in the Democratic race so far, former or current

mayors now running for president.

New Jersey Senator Cory Booker fits that bill before being elected to the Senate in a 2013 special election.

The New Jersey Democrat was mayor of Newark on the Municipal Council before that.

Newarkers and I think people in cities all across America are tired of people that are

putting down our urban spaces, trying to make them into jokes, ridiculing them, demeaning them

and degrading them. Booker is one of three Senate Democrats running for president who have a seat

on the Judiciary Committee, a panel that has also provided some national exposure. During confirmation hearings for Justice Brett Kavanaugh, Texas Republican John Cornyn threatened

expulsion after Booker released confidential information about the nominee.

Why not now alleviate all of that suspicion that the reasonable person can have,
