Hello, I'm James Reynolds on the BBC World Service, and this is BBC OS Conversations on

Coronavirus Europe's Unvaccinated.

The continent is once again being described as the centre of the pandemic.

Concerned countries are responding by looking to new Covid-19 restrictions with a focus on people

who haven't got the jab, and those are the voices and conversations we want to share in this edition.

I think the government should stop blaming unvaccinated people, take responsibility,

come up with some new policies which really work and stop dividing people into country.

The World Health Organization has been sounding the alarm about the path of the pandemic in Europe.

It said more than 60% of the world's Covid cases and deaths were in Europe over the last week,

and it warned of potentially tens of thousands more deaths due to the virus in the coming months.

Effected countries are listening and responding.

Mandatory vaccines, vaccine passports and movement restrictions on the unvaccinated

are dominating the debate in several European countries.

The Netherlands is one of those places looking at new curbs, and in response it's seen violent protests.

Seatska, in the capital Amsterdam, didn't take part in any protests, but is against lockdown

restrictions and has not been vaccinated against Covid-19.

I think the governments have gone way too far.

Earlier on I have seen that governments have trampled on fundamental rights in all our countries,

and it's very sad for me to watch how the Austrians are currently moving fast into this vaccine

mandate situation. I've seen that Germany is also discussing the mandates, the vaccine mandates,

and I suspect this will also come to the Netherlands.

Already moved into this phase of a totalitarian system that they are laying the infrastructure
