As tensions continue to rise at COP26, with just two days left until talks are supposed to end.

It's not time to sit back and relax. We have not done it yet.

Those targets we find have only reduced the emissions gap by about 15 to 17 percent.

We are nowhere near where we need to be yet.

So I'm saying to the leaders who are here now, this is on your watch.

Sorry. here now. This is on your watch. Sorry, it's so important. Late yesterday, China and the

US announced a surprise plan to work together on cutting greenhouse gas emissions in the next crucial decade.

This declaration makes a statement about that effort to cooperate, about the imperative to cooperate.

There were some key areas mentioned,

methane, energy, industry and transport.

Globally, that last sector accounts for around a quarter of CO2 emissions.

Which is why transport had its own dedicated day on Thursday, with a focus on electric vehicles.

No doubt with some influence from Elon Musk's Tesla's, electric cars are not only trendy, but being

held as the green solution for transport. But is it really as simple as that?
