Summary

Do you drink San Pellegrino? Gerolsteiner? Tap water? Do you know what’s in your water?

You need to listen to this podcast!

This was a fun rabbit hole to go down after one of my clients brought the possibility of Uranium in mineral waters to my attention.

Guess what? San P, and Gerolsteiner have a significant amount of this element= no bueno.

But the story gets even more complex when we try to find water that doesn’t have a ton of toxins, yet retains the beneficial components of mineral water (minerals like silica, which may actually be at the root of longevity benefits observed in the Blue Zones by preventing aluminum toxicity)...

Check out this video to get my take on how to find the best water source possible and get one step closer to #RadicalHealth.

Welcome to #theremembering.

What is up you guys? Welcome to another edition of Controversial Thoughts. You all know that I love rabbit holes and I found a really fun one recently.

0:12.0

So one of my clients actually brought this to my attention asking me what about uranium, obviously a radioactive toxic element generally speaking in drinking water in mineral water.

0:28.0

And I thought, oh, that's interesting. I've never really researched this. He'd done a little bit of research. We went down the rabbit hole together and I discovered some fascinating things.

So you guys know that the remembering hashtag is about more than just food. It's about how we live. Obviously water is pretty close to food, but it's important to understand that all of the pieces of our lives need to be considered in terms of optimal health.

0:55.0

Getting back to the way that our ancestors lived and hopefully achieving really, really radical profound levels of vitality, energy, libido, body composition, muscle strength, whatever you want so that you can do all the cool things in your life.

1:10.0

So water is a cool part of this that I haven't really talked about much. I've talked about diet a ton. You guys are all familiar with my views on an animal based diet.

1:19.0

Mostly meat and organs either fresh or desiccated like we make it hard and soil. We just release skin hair nails, bone matrix, love all that stuff. Check it out. Hard and soil. Co with the least toxic plant foods at Hard and soil.

1:33.0

We are also doing an animal based 30 reset in the month of April. So you can go to animalbase30.com to sign up for that. It's going to be bigger, better and more radical than the one we did in January.

1:46.0

But beyond food, what are you drinking? Obviously, if you're watching this on YouTube, you can tell that I'm sitting on the balcony in my place in Costa Rica, getting this afternoon sun. This is another part of the remembering. I'll talk about that soon.

1:59.0

But I'm loving being here, being in the ocean, playing, connecting with nature as part of it. But what are you drinking? What is the quality of the water you're drinking?

2:09.0

This is what I'm going to challenge you guys to understand. The first thing I'm going to say is your Brit it is not cutting it. The Brit it just doesn't cut it. It simply doesn't cut it.

2:18.0

The second thing I'm going to say is that you can go to the environmental working group, ewg.org, and figure out what the quality of the tap water is in your town.

2:29.0

I've done this for Austin, where I live when I'm in the States, and it's not very good. I'll show you guys what Austin's water looks like at ewg in a moment.

2:38.0

So you can see here, ewg.org, front slash tap water. You can find the environmental working groups tap water database with a 2000 and 19 update.

2:53.0

78703 is the area code I live in in Austin. You can view the utility and 10 contaminants exceed ewg health guidelines, 22 total contaminants.

3:08.0

Not a great indication. You can see here 248 times, promo, chloroacetic acid, chloroform, hexavalent chromium, that promo, chloro methane, that chloroacetic acid, haloacetic acid.

3:22.0

The list is long and breathtaking. All right. Basically, you do not want to be drinking tap water.

3:29.0

I don't want to be drinking tap water. You can try an activated carbon filter, but usually, like I said, your Brita is not going to cut it.

3:36.0

Reverse osmosis, maybe, but then reverse osmosis doesn't have any minerals. And I'll talk about why that might be important later in this video.

3:43.0

So what do you do? Because I'm pretty sure if you look at your tap water at ewg's database, it's not going to look so good.

3:54.0

So I think the best option is to drink mineral water. This is something I've spoken about in my books, et cetera.

4:00.0

I've mentioned a couple of different mineral waters that I've liked in the past, but I think that the best option is to drink mineral water. Some people may say, well, I can't afford this.
