What is going on everyone? Welcome back to the show. Today we are talking about

0:06.1

Fusarium wilt blight, rot, whatever you want to call it. It is most commonly known at least to me as damping off disease.

0:15.0

So what this does is it causes your newly sprouted seedling stems to collapse

0:20.0

and it's one of the few reasons that you can have problems starting your seeds.

So, did you know that Fusarium itself is a widespread genus of multiple species

0:31.0

which can also cause a number of blights and rot. So it's not just

So don't be thinking that you can just inspect your plant and see the mycelium.

1:14.7

You cannot.

1:15.7

Similarly, the spores for fusarium can linger in soil or on plant matter.

1:20.8

It will eat both living and dead plant material, so it's really important when it comes to

1:25.8

preventing this disease to keep your garden beds free of debris. If you have, you know, plant

1:31.2

tissue, plant matter on the surface of your soil.

1:34.4

It's getting wet, it's in contact with living

1:36.3

plant tissue, can be kind of an issue.

1:39.5

OK, so there are 14 different types of fusarium.

1:43.1

Of course we cannot talk about all of those.

1:45.4

So I would highly, highly recommend you go to the article
