I'm John Batchel with my colleague, Jonathan Shanzer, the executive director of the Foundation

for the Defense of Democracies. He's traveling in Europe, but we're looking at news from

Gaza right now. The headline, IDF begins major Gaza city ground offensive targeting

Hamas. Dozens of Gazans said killed. Defense Minister Katz says Gaza is burning. Subhead,

thousands flee amid intensive airstrikes. Army uses explosive-laden, remote-controlled APCs to hit infrastructure.

Secretary Rubio says, very short window of time for hostage ceasefire deal. That was something he said

in the visit to Doha and in air. Mr. Rubio is a relentless Secretary of State. He travels widely. Back to the offensive in an urban area,

they've been taking down those towers one by one to eliminate their difficulty of conquering them.

They've ordered the gossans to evacuate. What is the timeline for this, Jonathan? What do they think is in there that they're going to

drive out? Well, John, I think you're asking a very important question. My understanding is that at the

top of those towers, these have been observation points where they've been able to identify

where Israeli movement, military movement has been, and to direct terrorists to engage with

Israeli forces. That is obviously coming to an end very quickly. As these towers toppled,

these observation points are rendered obsolete. So that is part of what's going on. There's also
