I'm John Batchel with my colleagues, Bill Rajo and Bridget Toomey, of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies at the Long War Journal about the Houthis of Yemen.

Bridget, is there conversation anywhere in Washington or in the Western powers that have investments worldwide?

It's impossible to say this ship is that and that ship is this.

The Red Sea is a vital trade zone.

Anyone talking about the fact that we've got to deal with the Houthis or is this business as usual?

No change. People are certainly talking about the fact that we've got to deal with the Houthis, or is this business as usual, no change?

People are certainly talking about it, and there's concern about the impact on global

shipping, of course.

It's been a challenge to police the whole Red Sea, and at the moment, even the European force in the region have recognized that they're under-resourced.

So moving forward, there would really need to be a much more comprehensive discussion

of what to be done about both the Houthi terrorism, Iranian supplying of the Houthis,

and how this can be, you know, how this can be brought to an end.
