In this episode, I'm going to break down the content gap SEO

growth hack. This is a great growth hack that can get your new and old posts to rank for

hundreds of additional phrases. By now, you probably know that long form, deep, detailed post have the best track record of

ranking on the first page of Google. However, all high-quality long-form post are not created

equal when it comes to total first-page rankings per post. Some posts will get a first page ranking for a couple of target keywords.

Others will rank for close to 100 phrases, and a very select few will rank for over 1,000

separate keyword phrases. So, how do you go from ranking for a couple to a couple of hundred?

It starts with creating a detailed outline from keyword research.

Let me walk you through an example.

A fitness blogger decides to write a long-form review post on the Fitbit Versa product.

Their target keyword is going to be Fitbit Versa review. The first step is going to be doing keyword research on the target keyword to see

if there are any other long-tailed searches using this keyword phrase.

From the keyword research, we find the following phrases occurring in the long-tail for the

target phrase. Special Edition. Light. Swimming. Android. Sleep tracking. Charge. IOS, screen protector, heart rate accuracy, heart rate monitor, metal band, woven band.

This list of long tails gives you a nice top level view of the categories to cover, which will lead to additional rankings.

From this list, the top-level outline would become

Intro, Special Edition versus Light,

performance by phone type, iOS, and Android.
