Vaughn seminar is my guest this week.

Vaughn is something of a portrait painter, just not in the traditional sense.

His images may come from his observation, but they're filtered through his mind's eye.

Los Angeles arts writer and critic Peter Frank describes Vaughn as a figure painter of

uncommon wit and sensitivity.

And I think that sums up Vaughn's work best without putting a label on it.

In this episode, Vaughn talks about growing up in Palo Alto, California where he was exposed

to a lot of art, specifically Bay Area Figuative Artists.

His second home was the backroom of his father's framing studio.
