Today, Kemi Badenoch gave a speech at the Conservative party conference. Adam, Chris, and Henry Zeffman were listening and give their immediate reaction.
She announced a flurry of new policies, including abolishing stamp duty and introducing a fiscal “golden rule”.
Did she manage to silence her critics? And is her job as party leader, at least for now, safe?
She also attacked Labour for the collapse a case of two men accused of spying for China, which they deny. But is she right to accuse the government of “sucking up to Beijing?”

| 0:34.6 | how much effort the Conservative Party put in to making it look like there were loads of activists here who really loved her and that the hall was really massive, even though it was in a much smaller hall in this venue than these things normally are in. Yeah, I think they've been a little bit stung, I think, by the reality of what smaller numbers look like. I mean, I think in particular with that Mel Stride, Shadow |

And hence we've had this blitz of policy announcements, including the one today.
