Unfictional is a program of stories and original documentaries from KCRW's independent producer project.

On this episode, two stories produced for the BBC Radio 3 series

Between the EARS.

And recently they featured a week of radio stories that were based on an old party game

called Consequences. It's a little like the road trip game Mad Libs that you might have played as a kid.

Players build a bizarre story by each blindly filling in a list of story elements,

a man's name, a woman's name, where they met, what he said, what she said,

etc.

And one of the last phrases is, and the consequence was.

Well, five producers, including myself,

created radio works very loosely based on five

of these consequences elements.

And on this episode, two stories from that series,

beginning with this one, a story of a couple named Melanie and Ed

who moved to New York for adventure, and they find it.

Just not the kind they were expecting.
