So welcome to our Rosary meditation for the movement of the Holy Family.

son and the Holy Spirit. So this is day five of our 33 day preparation for

consecration to Jesus through Mary that will conclude on December 8th.

St Louis de Montfer insisted in order to be filled by God and reach true and lasting happiness, we must first know ourselves, our vices,

our weaknesses, and our need for God.

Pride, envy, anger, sloth, greed, gluttony, and lust.

Yesterday we reflected on Sloth today greed.

So before we begin, let's call to mind all those that we've promised to pray for.

Greed is a disordered love of getting and possessing.

Although this might involve mere money, it can also take the form of an excessive

desire for positions, knowledge, or other goods.

Greed is the misplaced desire to find happiness or security in worldly realities rather

than in God who alone can satisfy our desire for infinite truth, beauty, and goodness.

And when we fail to trust that God will provide our daily bread, then we seek to grab all that we can and store it up

for a rainy day.

We see greed manifested in consumerism, that getting and possessing a material goods that

replaces union with God is the goal of life, but also in an eagerness and carelessness in living beyond one's means,

but also a failure to tithe 10% to the church and other charitable organizations.
