Welcome to our Rosary meditation.

This is day one of our 33 day preparation for consecration to Jesus through Mary. St Louis de Manford

insists that in order to be filled by God and reach true and lasting

happiness we must first know ourselves and our vices and weaknesses

and especially our need for God. The vices are the bad actions. We turn into habits that destroy what we need to be happy.

There are seven root or deadly vices.

Pride, envy, anger, sloth, greed, gluttony, and lust.

The spiritual masters teach us that every person is dominated by two or three of these deadly sins.

Therefore, the first step of self-knowledge is to identify which two or three have enslaved me.

We will begin this process with this meditation.

So let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

We can all check this one off so this is where we must begin

The main principle of reality is this

God is God. I am not God. I'm sure you were questioning that. Jesus said to St

Catherine of Siena. Catherine, remember one thing. I am he who is and you are she who is not. Pride is to live in

denial of this reality. Our biggest obstacle to being filled and transformed by God is that

we distrust him and we place all our trust in ourselves. So pride is this radical self-reliance that

leads us to believe we have everything we need to be happy, therefore we do not
