Today's episode is about relationships. Now, a lot of it is focus on personal, romantic, committed

relationships, because that's something that I'm interested in. But as we talk about relationships,

we should talk about the bigger meaning of relationship because it is one of the major aspects of

being human, of being a consciousness with boundaries to you where I am Sam.

Me and the microphone have a relationship, sometimes good, sometimes bad.

But it is really just how you relate to other people, places, and things.

Sometimes adjectives.

You could have a bad relationship to the word moist,

for instance. That's a popular one I've heard. But the point is, is that a relationship is more than

you. It is the combination of you plus thing. So you might walk down the street every day

and see a daisy in every single day you pick up a daisy.

You smell it, you enjoy it.

But after three weeks, you've picked every single daisy off the road.

In that instance, you would have a great relationship to that street.

That street might not have a great relationship to you.

And so if you've ever been in a relationship like me that meets all your needs, that seems fantastic and out of the blue, your partner leaves you,

well, you might have had a good relationship to your partner, but your partner did not have a
