Anybody who runs the Marathon des Sables - which is 6-day race, run through the Sahara Desert in blistering heat - knows something about ultra-fitness, and is definitely worth a listen. This week, I talk to Brian Keane about his journey from primary school teacher to ultra-athlete and coach, and specifically about the fears he conquered to get there.

Well, hey there, this is Kim Constable. Welcome to the Strong and Sculpted podcast, the podcast by me,

0:12.8

Kim Constable, also known as the Sculpted Vegan, about all things strong and of course all

0:17.9

things sculpted. So on today's podcast, I have a very special guest. I've been doing a lot of guest interviews recently, but that's just because I've been digging deep into the resources that I have, the people that I know to bring you the best positive mindset resources that I can possibly bring you to get through this really difficult time.

So if you're listening to this podcast later on, this is being recorded at the end of March 2020

0:43.7

when the world is in the middle of a global pandemic, aka COVID-19, the coronavirus.

0:50.6

And I am, what I'm trying to do is bring together all of the resources that I have to literally

0:55.4

just uplift your spirits, keep you going, let you know it's all going to be okay and that I'm

0:59.7

here to support you. So in today's podcast, I am interviewing a guy called Brian Keen. Now, Brian is

1:06.5

from Galway. I'm actually from Belfast up in the north of Ireland. Brian is from Galway in the

1:10.4

south of Ireland and he reached out to me about six months ago and invited me to be

1:15.0

a guest on his podcast. And I agreed to be a guest and we had the best crack. Now crack is

1:22.3

another word for fun in Ireland. It's spelled C-R-A-I-C. And so I just loved being on Brian's podcast because any

1:28.7

podcast interviews I've ever done before have usually been with Americans, actually, been on a

1:34.4

couple of English podcasts, but as a guest, usually on American ones. And I am asked very frequently

1:38.3

to be a guest on podcast. And so whenever I was on Brian's one, it was so much fun, simply because

1:43.5

whenever you speak to someone from your

1:45.7

own country, you know, especially there are not very many people doing the online world,

1:49.4

doing the, you know, what Brian and I are doing in Ireland. So it's, it's just lovely to connect

1:55.9

with someone from your own country. And Brian and I really connected. We had such a similar mindset. You know, we just,

2:03.4

we connected on so many things, on fear mindsets, on, you know, on how to be productive, on how to

2:09.2

achieve your goals. Whenever Brian and I were talking recently, I said to him, he actually has a new

2:14.1

book out and it's called rewire your mindset and he has another one called
