I want to share my Belichick theory, and then you could tell me either, that's genius, Evan, or I'm a giant idiot. Bill Belichick is such a hateful man that he requested to meet with Woody Johnson, just so

Woody would have to beg him.

So the Jets would get on their hands and knees and say, oh, Bill, dear Bill, with such

a horrible franchise, we need you, please save us, so Bill could laugh at them and then leave the room.

That's my theory on why Bill Belichick reached out to the Jets. Your thoughts?

Actually, Evan was kind of the opposite. It was that Bill called the Jets and to express an interest

in their vacancy and to see if the Jets had an interest in him as well.

And the Jets basically told him that, look, we appreciate it.

But this isn't something where we're going to basically stop everything just because Bill Belichick called us and we're going to hire you here on December and then let you

pick our next general manager and all that stuff.

They were willing to talk to him.
