My Lord of my God, I firmly believe that you are here, that you see me, that you hear me.

I adore you with profound reverence.

I ask your pardon for my sins and the grace to make this time of prayer fruitful.

My Immaculate Mother St. Joseph, my father, and Lord, my guardian angel,

intercede for me. Perhaps with a bit of selfishness, so I don't bore myself to death. I figure

if I bore myself to death, I can't imagine what the listeners go through. So I always ask the Lord, who's the light of the

world, how do I pitch these meditations for this retreat? So one year it's Samaritan woman, another

year is the prodigal son.

If it's around Christmas, it's the birth of our Lord.

And I have a theme for each year, even though the life of Christ is standard.

And the theme is John 8, verse 12

Jesus spoke to them saying

I am the light of the world

I am the meaning of human life. I am the fulfillment of literally every person.

One has to seek me out. One has to open the door of his or her heart. But I am their light. I'm their

happiness. I'm their meaning, I am their hope.

It's a very loaded word. I am the light of the world. He or she who follows me does not walk
