I'm hearing and seeing news stories popping up, particularly out of California,

that people want you to run for governor.

What's the deal here?

No, no, no, no.

The issue is a state delegation to the Convention and Bernie

carried the state and they want a Bernie person to chair the state convention to the

delegation to the state convention and so there was a petition that hundreds of Bernie

delegates have signed to say whether I can chair it and I said I'm not going to

campaign for that but I do think that Bernie did carry the state and his

priority should be reflected in the state delegation and I'm happy to do it if

selected. Yeah that makes a lot of sense. Although I think you make a great

governor too. I'm happy and I think I think I'm happy and I think I think Gavin's doing a very good job all things considered.

So apparently my misunderstanding was that Newsom, the current governor would be the one who heads the state delegation is

that it and people want you you instead to the I think so

ceremonially a lot of times the governor has done it or a senator has done it

you know that and usually it's just decided in a back room about who should do it.

And there's, but you know, the rules say that the delegates should really vote for it.

And I think a lot of the Bernie delegates feel that given that Bernie carried the state

they want someone who's going to advocate for Medicare for all in Free Public College and the platform.

And then, while it's more symbolic, I do think it makes a difference in terms of the direction of the party.
