On today’s podcast I had Tim Ruth, aka The Crypto Weatherman! We talked about how he’s been teaching people on Tiktok and YouTube to read charts, analyze different crypto projects, and how to start buying low and selling high. I was a big skeptic of this type of content because I don’t understand how to read the charts, but the way Tim explains things is really good. In fact, in 2021 he had a 75% success rate, which is absolutely mind blowing! It’s all documented on his channel. It was really cool to hear his perspective on how he looks at different coins. We also talked about the crypto community as a whole and how there are many ways to succeed. We discussed the community he’s apart of called Cryptoknight, which has over a million followers across the various creators, as well as a Discord channel with over 100,000 subscribers. It’s really cool to see what they’re doing in the community they built up, as well as some bots and tools they’re using to trade crypto. The Crypto Weatherman, Tim Ruth, got into trading and technical analysis when he went to the Naval Academy. At the time, the economy was taking a hit, so one of his professors taught his students how to do technical analysis to be more financially educated. After that, Tim Ruth dove deeper into crypto trading and technical analysis as a whole.

Tim Ruth has even created his own bot for crypto trading. The bot, while a lagging indication, works 24/7 to report on the tops and bottoms as the market fluctuates.

The Crypto Weatherman and I discuss some psychology of trading. While some think that paper trading stocks and crypto is effective practice, Tim disagrees. Tim points out that when paper trading, there is no real loos or gain, so people are more likely to act different when their own money is at stake.

Tim Ruth and I also discuss risk management when trading. He says that beginners should only invest about 10% of their portfolio in a project. When you put too much in a single trade, people become more emotionally invested in the project and are more likely to lose in the trade. He also makes confidence levels for each of his trades to determine how much of his portfolio to contribute to each trade.
