We tend to see ourselves as the hero in the story.

In fact, we have a hero-villain victim narrative in this country that doesn't serve us very well.

We're almost always the hero, occasionally the victim, never the villain.

Now I don't think hero villain victim even captures the reality of what it means to be a human being living on this planet.

We're actually Kosojourners trying to make our way.

But when you put somebody in a category of hero, villain, or victim, well, you're going to be

the hero.

Or maybe you were struggling, and the victim hero is just the best right then you really have the win

So people are going to find a way for themselves to be the hero and voting actually is about self identity and how you view yourself.

And so if you can give people a criterion by which they can still be the, still do the right thing.

We have this little saying for these Republicans, we say, hey, you're still you even if you vote blue it's okay you know

you're not giving up anything it's all right you can make this exception this one

time and you don't have to you don't have to feel like you've lost the essence of

who you are I mean it's just

voting after all right for a lot of people they're like okay let me let me pull

back from somehow I'm gonna stand before God and have to explain why I voted for a Democrat or whatever.
