0:59.0 | Of course, everything that came before the Second World War and the British Army feeds into what was happening in the Second World War, |

1:07.0 | So I don't think it's entirely relevant and appropriate that we are here today and looking at it, |
1:12.0 | not just from the Second World War bits, but also back to the war of the Spanish succession, |
1:17.0 | wars against France from 1700s to the 1820s. |
1:20.0 | Yeah, we like wars against France, so historically, James, as you know. |
1:24.0 | And although our alliances change through history, our involvement in Europe goes right the way back to the first decades of the British Army in the late 17th century. |
1:35.0 | And so here we are in the conflict in Europe, gallery. |
1:38.0 | And it fits within the context of the Army's three really enduring roles in our history, in our island story. |
1:47.0 | And a lot of people think that governments change defense policy and governments change, you know, the size and shape of an army and what the army does. |
