Today, on Insight for Living from Chuck Swindall, I came across an interesting quote from

Corey Tenbone.

She was speaking to a group of young leaders.

She said to them, is prayer your steering wheel or your spare tire?

Do you use prayer as what will guide you or do you turn to it only when you've got trouble?

Just before they crossed through the Jordan River and stepped into the Promised Land, the

Israelites experienced a massive shift in leadership.

Remember Moses would never have the privilege of living in the new country.

Instead, he handed the mantle of leadership to Joshua.

Imagine the dynamics as Joshua filled his new assignment and think about the adjustments

for the Hebrew people as they followed their new leader.

Today, on Insight for Living, Chuck Swindall continues our study in Joshua 1, Chuck titled

his message, Confident Leadership, Ideal Response, and we begin with prayer.

Our strength and courage come only from you, O God, they don't come from thinking positively,

or leaning on other people who are stronger than we, or reading great books about great

lives of great people, strength and courage come from you, so we lean on you for both.

Do we be people of truth?

May we be just, pure?

May our thoughts focus on things that are excellent and bring good report.

Deliver us from the morass of misery that comes from preoccupation with this world and

what it has to offer.

Lift our sights above this and remind us that you do all things that are good and when
