We've been talking about confidence in God, and tonight I would like to talk about the

enemies of that confidence.

It is, if the foundation of confidence is God Himself, which I've tried my best to emphasize

as clearly as I can, then what is the enemy?

The foundation of confidence is God, what is the enemy of our confidence in God?

Well I think that the source goes back to the Garden of Eden when the first sin that was

committed by Adam and Eve revealed the deepest root of malignancy within ourselves, which

is a five letter word pride.

It began in the Garden of Eden, all of us have carried it on and are guilty.

And in Romans 8, 5 to 9, we read this.

Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires.

But those who live in accordance with the spirit have their minds set on what the spirit desires.
