Hey, everybody listening. Christmas is almost here. Hope you get everything you want. If you were on the nice list, if not, there's still time. Do a couple good deeds. One of those good deeds could be giving us a five-star review. Whether you listen on Apple Podcast, Spotify, it doesn't matter. We just appreciate you listening.

Conference championship games need to matter. And with a top four seed and a buy awaiting for some if they win, we know there is a reward. But the better question is, should there be a

1:05.0

punishment for losing that game outside of not getting the reward for winning?

1:09.8

Well, to me, the answer is yes, but it's nuanced.

In my opinion, if you're a team that is already in the playoff 12 before the conference championship

1:56.2

You treat SMU's resume as it stands today when they are 11 and 1, verse Tennessee, who is 10 and 2,

2:04.2

and decide that way.

2:06.0

I do want to remind everyone, this is how I would do it, not what the committee will do because

2:10.8

nobody knows what they're going to do regardless of what they say.

2:14.0

Now, where my methodology gets a little bit hairy is what does that mean for Boise State,

2:19.5

who's already in the field as a group of five team and is actually slated to get a top four

2:24.8

seat as it stands today. So are they viewed as a team from a top four conference if they lose to
