I served for some 36 years in the Central Intelligence Agency largely as what is called an

operations officer or case officer.

Every month we'll be bringing you interesting talks with visitors, with authors, with

My guest today is Pete Early.

Pete Early is the author of Comrade Jay, one of the most remarkable books that's come out

this year about a Russian intelligence officer stationed in Manhattan and the activities that he engaged in, the operations he ran, the

agency had, and quite remarkably he was an agent for the CIA and the FBI during the last years of his service.

And the book gives us incredible insight into both the KGB as an organization

and also of the recruiting activities of the Russian involved whose name is Sergei Trechikoff.
