0:19.0	there was a great deal of uncertainty about the future.
0:23.2	And it wasn't just among my friends and I.
0:24.8	It was on a global scale.
0:27.4	You could feel it everywhere.
0:29.1	There was tension, there was anxiety
0:31.9	because there was great doubt, and yet an impending sense of doom about what the future holds.
0:38.0	And this great fear was produced by something with a very simple and haunting name.
0:43.2	Y2K.
0:45.4	For those of you who don't know, we were being told that
0:50.8	apparently the computers weren't accustomed to years that started with the number two.
0:56.1	And so all of our technology was about to fail thrusting us into the dark ages.
1:00.9	No AOL, no more MapQuest, no power for our flip phones.
1:06.1	It was going to get primitive quick.
1:08.7	And Hollywood kept reminding us that trouble was coming.
1:13.1	Movie after movie said the volcanoes are coming to get us.
1:17.7	Floods are coming to get us.
1:19.1	The ice is coming to get us.
1:20.5	Viruses are coming to get us.
