live. This is a bonus episode of Tamarindo during our spring break. We met with representatives from

the Illinois Legislative Latino Caucus Foundation. The state of Illinois is a fascinating state

that in many ways serves as a microcosm of the nation, particularly when you look

at the breakdown of Latinos in the state, as well as looking at rural versus urban communities.

There's a lot that we can learn from what's happening in Illinois.

This is why it could be instructed to also learn about what the Latina community is prioritizing,

as told by the Foundation's new report,

Raises 2025. The report was informed by participants who attended the Foundation's Raises

conference and who voiced their community needs, especially around justice, equity, and community

development. The report, in term, helps caucus members work more closely and in partnership with the community to set policy that is reflective of what the community wants.

We love this model and we hope that by hearing about it today, it could be replicated elsewhere.
