Like many things in life, my friends, I'm just stumbling through.

I'm just journeying through all these different hobbies and messing up a lot.

And sourdough certainly is one that it's honestly easy to mess up.

There's a lot of different ways you can go wrong.

And so I think you've seen me stumble through these, but I was wondering maybe we should start with some of the most basic mistakes someone can make.

Is there a number one for you?

Yeah, I think that the number one is probably more meta than anything else, which is not starting and getting so overwhelmed by the process that you actually never start.

Or you make a starter and then never do the next thing.

And I've actually told people to unfollow me because I'd rather have them not follow me and start than maybe another input and overwhelming them and never actually start making bread.

So I think that's the first thing is like just start pick someone you don't need 17 people telling me how to do this and people do it differently.

Pick someone that you resonate with that has good resources and had good recipes and just go and start.

You can once you get good, you can always go back to those other people and other methods and try those.

Okay, that makes sense. I mean, I think my mom got into it and much to my just may just just absolutely slaughtered me at skill set.

Every loaf is, I mean, she's baked her whole life, but she's never done sourdough as far as I know, but something about the baking talents and maybe the motherly instincts she just had it.

Because she made this beautiful loaf, bull style loaf with that perfect, like sort of smiley face, simple, you know.

And it just looked amazing and I was, I was both happy and discouraged because she was afraid to get started.

She was like, oh, you know, the recipe looks intimidating.

I was like, Mom, you know, you're hanging out at home a lot. She's got a chronic illness, right? So she's at home a lot.

Why not just try it. It's like almost the perfect style of baking for the way that you live.

And she crushed it. And so yeah, get started. We've already hopefully convinced you guys listening to do that.
