I'm your host, Eric Kane, here today to break down a new commit for the Lady Vols. And a new name to know, the new commit is Shailun Steele. The name to know is Alia Moore.

All right, Shailon Steele, the ninth transfer portal commit for Lady Valls for Kim Caldwell,

and she joins Tennessee by way of Penn State.

Comes over, and she is formerly the top-ranked player out of the state of Kentucky,

just completed her sophomore season, and she's going to add some back court depth for the University of Tennessee. Again, another guard. Tennessee continues

to get a lot of guard play, guard heavy in the transfer portal so far. She's five foot six,

played in 27 games last year year where she started eight games for

Penn State, average two points and average three rebounds per game. Also had 31 assists,

and in two seasons, she combined to have 39 steals for Penn State. Again, right now,

the numbers don't look great, the numbers don't jump off the page, if you will. But again, you're trying to formulate a team right now, and you're starting from ground zero. So everybody's got to play a role right here. Everybody wants to jump at the boat. Everybody wants to be a lady ball. You've got to be able to play a role. And obviously, Shailon Steele was comfortable in coming in and competing, trying to earn

some minutes and certainly finding out a role and carving out a niche for her spot for Kim Cawber as Lady Balls.

You look at kind of what she did overall at Penn State. Again, 5'5 foot 6 sophomore, just completed her

sophomore season, played at Russell High School in Kentucky, where she played six seasons.

So I guess it's one of those where you can start as a middle school or whatever.
