I'm Richard Porter. I'm Johnny Smith. This is Smith and Sniff a podcast in which two friends talk about cars and this week the state of BMW. I was out walking the dog this morning and I saw a fantastic example of what I think you could best call casually confident driving.

Casual, casually confident?

Yeah, you'll know what I mean when I fill in some of the colours on this drawing.

It was a bin lorry, It's bin morning round my way.

Yeah, I was following a bin lorry about an hour ago.

Did you have to hold your breath?

It's a good question. Actually, it was recycling, so not normally is quite as

answered though I'm always amazed that the recycling lorry doesn't smell of

just faintly of stale wine because I know that's what our recycling bin

smells of and I guess maybe not everybody who

recycles is rampantly drunk as we are in this book.

It's the worst one is the is the milk is the residual old milk in a crushed plastic milk carton.

Yeah. Yeah. It's funny that recycling lorries don't smell rancid because the actual bin

lorries just often smells terrible if smells terrible if I'm walking the dog and

we go past the bin lorry I usually try and hold my breath and I've started

running recently and I've realized if you run past the bin lorry you can't really

run and hold your breath for any significant amount of time without giving light headed.

So it's quite a challenge but this morning I was just walking the dog and there's a junction near ours that comes off a sort of fairly busy,

mainish road into a side road and it's a funny junction because it's got a central island and there's
