DC gets hit with a pretty epic winter storm and the commanders make a hire at defensive coordinator.

Beltway football, J.P. Fenley, Mitch Tishler, and Durante Jones is the new defensive coordinator of the Washington commanders.

Comes from Minnesota, played a big role in that Vikings defense.

My first thought is I always thought the Brian Flores

thing was kind of a pipe dream. I believe Kevin O'Connell when he's like, listen, if he's going

to be a D coordinator, he's going to be our D coordinator. Sure enough, that's proven correct unless he

gets a head coaching job. But you wonder when Flores was talking with DQ and everybody, if he's like, listen,

man, you should check out my guy. Like, it'd be hard for me not to think on some level that

conversation happened. I imagine you're pretty happy because you want somebody that's going to

take the fight to the offense. And this dude graduated from take the fight to the offense and this dude graduated from

take the fight to the offense university i mean that's exactly where he graduated from with a

with an advanced degree working under both vance joseph and uh brian flor at different times listen

i want a guy who's going to go after the quarterback who's going to create pressures and you know

now and i'm very happy with the sire i think he's kind of a good a good um he has a good opportunity here i don't know

that any of these other names really got me super excited about what was going to happen in washington so

thorntz jones seems as good of a good of a guy as any now it's on the front office to bring in a little more talent and give him something to work.

Yeah, I mean, if you run through kind of his resume, it's impressive.

Obviously, worked with Flores in Minnesota.

That Vikings defense was number three in total defense last year, top 10 in points per game over the last two years.

Top 10 in turnovers and three of the four seasons he was there.

Like, you mentioned Vince Joseph also worked for Mike Zimmer.
