uh having a comic friend on and instead of having an academic guest talking about scientific research. I thought with a holiday season in especially

trying year that has people thinking about mortality and health and what is life all about. about and re-prioritizing things and having to perhaps compromise a lot of their usual rituals and traditions and

and thinking about their various belief systems or questioning science or spirituality or just wow just so many this there has

never been quite a year for reflection quite like this and I just thought I want to have a spiritual conversation with someone outside of academia and Pete Holmes has some of my best takes we've had been been lucky enough and in getting to call

Pete my friend in the few times that we've hung out outside of

podcasting and stuff that we've had some of the most incredible philosophical conversations and he has this book that

I'm this autobiography of his comedy sex God is so terrific. I've been wanting to plug it forever.

Been working on developing a second podcast so I can put all of the other aspects of things that I'm into,

comedy and philosophy and maybe getting different artists and musicians on and stuff like that.

I can be a little protective of my here we are space but this was just I wasn't getting everything together as

perfectly as I wanted to in terms of my second

podcasts which I still plan on hopefully launching sometime in

February or something if I can get everything else in order for that. I have several recorded

already and I just thought the timing was right and I just I just habitually always just I tend to put things off waiting for things to be

Exactly perfect and exactly how I have them planned out in my mind sometimes and I just

guys to check out as you're streaming check out his HBO show crashing which you know I say this I say this to his face on the show I

wouldn't blame you if you thought I was kissing but I wouldn't blame you if you

thought well Shane you're biased this is a friend of yours all those things may be true

but gosh darn it. This show crashing on HBO brought me so much joy, so many laughs, and I thought was just the most authentic representation of life starting out in comedy.
