Why is this important? Because I think we get stuck from time to time wondering if a certain

prompting is from God or just my own thinking. Well, let's look at Rebecca's example.

Now, maybe this was her normal pattern. Maybe it was an impulsive thought.

and today we are looking at a fantastic part of the Old Testament, Genesis 24 to 33.

It's especially relevant for us today,

for all of us, and especially if you're a parent or if you hope to be a parent, and you want to think through how do we pass on the importance of covenants to the next generation? What does that

look like? So let's recap where we have been. So we have

Abraham Isaac Jacob, right? They're the patriarchs that we see in Genesis. Heavenly Father

makes this monumental covenant with Abraham. Literally, there is no way to overstate the importance of the covenant that he

makes with Abraham. There are several elements to that covenant. They include land, posterity,

divine protection, and being a blessing to all nations. Everything that is about to happen in the

Old Testament and then into the New Testament and the

Book of Mormon and our own history today, like things are spun in motion by this covenant that

Heavenly Father makes with Abraham.

But as you can imagine, it might be hard to be the son of someone who received the most important covenant like Abraham did.

Great for Abraham, right? Maybe not so great for Isaac who didn't receive it. We see the same thing
