Today, Matthew 28, Mark 16, Luke 24, and John 20 to 21.

What a contrast.

Last week's episode was one of the most painful, difficult, and deep blocks of scripture that you can cover in a four-year cycle of

studying the scriptures. And today is probably the most triumphant and glorious and happy episodes,

the greatest event, this beautiful resurrection of Jesus Christ, first time where somebody is now brought

out of the grave into a glorified, resurrected body. Keep in mind, Jesus raised three people

from the dead, but he didn't resurrect them during his ministry.

He is the first fruits of the resurrection.

He brought them back to mortal life, but they would one day die again.

In this case, what makes this one so triumphant is Jesus would be resurrected never to die again.

And that's very significant.

And we invite you to read these stories and hear them afresh, or even imagine this is your

first time. Do you think about the earliest people who were converts to Christianity? They

would have not known the story. They would have heard about the horrific crucifixion. Now imagine,

as they are hearing the story shared with them, he came back? Imagine the deep spiritual

and emotional impetus it would be for the first hearers and listeners to say, this is the man, the
