But in a 2019 survey, many young women and girls who ride BART say they had experienced harassment from cat calling to stocking and unwelcome sexual advances, forcing many to spend

large amounts of money on ride-sharing options like Uber and Lyft.

A new public awareness campaign called Not One More Girl

launched on Bart last week and aims to change

the culture of gender-based violence and harassment

on public transit.
